Jim Dingley, now retired, was born in Leeds in 1942. He has worked as a translator/interpreter in The Netherlands, and has taught Russian in the University of Reading and the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, London. He has been involved with Belarus and Belarusian Studies since the 1960s. Since retirement he has been active as a translator from Belarusian.
