Transitions №3

Author: Tatiana Danilyants

Translated by Mark Wingrave

SIMPLY: A REMINDER

untitled 1
always the same things unsettle me
dying
the loss of close ones
losing friends
in a word
intransigence

waking at night
the fine webs of relations come to mind
their treacherous subtlety
transparency
ri-ppl-ing

you could
say it’s being allergic to life
though it feels more like
being allergic to death

and what if
we change our perspective
the centre of gravity
?
perhaps
it would help

untitled 2
how to harness time
the way a thought had been

to freeze in London
in the mirrored rain
seeing oneself

caught on the border in between
summerfall
in a London
space
of soft boneless rain

untitled 3
autumn 2007
has its own specificities
caught in London
stretching a hand
rain

untitled 4
not wanting anything
other than a reminder

SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY THROUGH MOSCOW

1
and it enters here
in the terracotta earth
I feel at a loss
as if everything is less acceptable
than I would like it to be but
the pigeons
white and rust
flickering in memory
there is so much light
surely
enough for all

and these pigeons
pacing around
are so strange
they remind me
of their capacity to fill
the world over
rome paris palermo
a plenitude of air and light
Thank You
